Summer Reading Programs

A colorful poster for children, featuring a green chameleon sitting on a branch and a yellow snake. The text states that a summer reading program for the year 2025 will be held at various libraries.

Excitement awaits at your local library this coming summer! We’ve got you covered from north to east and even down to Houston! Join Ms. Emiley, Mr. Rick or Ms. Amanda for an unforgettable adventure with some amazing animals!

Each year, libraries across the state embark on their Summer Reading Programming. They will host fun events, storytellers, magicians, and more. This is all in an attempt to keep kids coming back to the library to avoid the “summer slide” where reading scores will actually decrease due to the lack of reading. These events are offered every summer at most libraries and the best part is that they are free! Each week, there is something new and exciting.  There are fun prizes for reading and attending. The librarians enlist our help to make coming to the library fun. This year, it’s going to be a very colorful!

Hop down to your local library, whether it’s in the Dallas/Fort Worth or surrounding areas, Tyler/Longview and all of the East Texas areas, or Houston/Katy/Spring and metro areas, and ask your librarian how to sign up and when The Creature Teacher is coming. You can also scroll down to see a long list of our dates and locations.

Remember, our programs are WILDLY EDUCATIONAL and WILDLY POPULAR. Seats fill up quickly and in some cases, seating is limited.  It’s first come, first serve. Come early to get yourself a good seat.

We look forward to seeing you this summer!

Note to the librarians:

Our spaces fill very early.  Call now, some spots still remain.
