We are excited to introduce Amanda Galyean, our Tyler/Longview franchise owner. Amanda is a native East Texan that has over 14 years of experience in teaching and administration after receiving her BA in Applied Arts and Sciences from Texas A&M University- Commerce. She recognized her calling to education and working with students after long term substitute teaching at Alba-Golden High School prompting her to gain her teaching certification through the Region 7 ESC in Kilgore.  She later earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and a Principal certification from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. Most recently she has completed the coursework for her Superintendency from Lamar as well.

Amanda’s excitement for animals was instilled by her family and she loves getting to share the same passion with her two children on their small family farm. 

She has a special place in her heart to work with students that come from traumatic backgrounds and is active in Foster/Adopt communities close to her, as well as being involved in teaching Sunday School and planning VBS for her local church. With family being a priority, she has chosen to combine her love for students and animals and join our team! She has knowledge of grants and school funding opportunities that can help make booking your next program, party, or special event a lot easier!

She lives in Alba, Texas with Jed, Gigi and their newly rescued lab puppy Storm and their Bearded Dragon affectionately known as Flash.

The Creature Teacher provides live animal programs for birthdays, schools, scouting events, corporate events, libraries and more in the Dallas, Ft. Worth, Houston, Tyler, East Texas areas. Our programs are wildly educational and unforgettable. We make learning fun.
