Summer Reading Programs

Library Summer Reading Program 2025 flyer for Color our World

Excitement awaits at your local library this coming summer! We’ve got you covered from north to east and even down to Houston! Join Ms. Emiley, Mr. Rick, or Ms. Amanda for an unforgettable adventure with some amazing animals!

Each year, libraries across the state embark on their wildlife education programs for libraries as part of their Summer Reading Programming. These library programs feature fun events, storytellers, magicians, and more to keep kids engaged and prevent the “summer slide,” where reading scores decrease due to lack of reading. These wildlife library programs, including live animal presentations, are designed for kids and teens—and the best part is that they’re free! Each week brings something new and exciting, including fun prizes for reading and attending.

Librarians enlist our help to make visiting the library an exciting and educational experience. This year’s programs promise to be colorful and unforgettable!

Hop down to your local library, whether it’s in the Dallas/Fort Worth or surrounding areas, Tyler/Longview and all of East Texas, or Houston/Katy/Spring metro areas, and ask your librarian how to sign up and when The Creature Teacher is coming. You can also scroll down to see a long list of our dates and locations.

Remember, our live animal presentations are WILDLY EDUCATIONAL and WILDLY POPULAR. Seats fill up quickly, and in some cases, seating is limited. It’s first come, first served—so come early to grab a good seat.

We look forward to seeing you this summer!
